So for many, many years, I’ve been wanting to live in a house. Outside the city, preferably somewhere on the countryside. With no neighbours. Now, there are many sorts of houses I could see myself living in. But I do have a dream which would be absolutely wonderful if I managed to manifest into reality. What you see below is a very raw drawing of what it could look like.
I am a huge fan of older architecture. I love Ruskin and Morris and the style that they stood for. Now, I do live in Sweden, and we have a history of using – not exactly the same style, but something similar to it, when it comes to industrial buildings. Not the new ones – oh, no. But older ones. And I absolutely adore the old, red brick walls and the black iron gates.
I want that on my house.
And just now that I am really off to bed, I came to think of what I’d like on the back of my house. I have cats, and I would love for them to spend time outside. I am, however, also very overprotective, and want to keep them safe. That’s why I would love to have a little garden for the cats – with walls and roof to keep them safe, but still outside so they can enjoy the fresh air, look at things, hunt the humble bees – you know the drill.
So I came up with the idea of having a little rounded catgarden. Or, not so little, but not too big either. But big enough for them to have fun, and maybe to keep a table and some chairs for me and people coming over.
Planning a house is not my strong side, so I need to find someone to help me with this. But I do know what I want – a house built of old material only (aside from bathroom and kitchen). I am guessing it’ll cost a whole shitload of money, but I would love to have a house built from my needs and desires. At this very moment, I’ll be needing five rooms, a kitchen and a bathroom and possibly a guest toilet – and a guesthouse.
I also want my garden – outside the catgarden, to be fairly large. I intend to have at least two large breed dogs, and they too need some space to move around.
Ha – I can’t believe I’m getting into all these dreams and goals, all of a sudden. It’s absolutely amazing. Especially the feeling that I have when thinking about it.
What if this could actually become my reality? For real! That would be absolutely fantastic. I would love to live in a house like this. And I’m thinking red roses at the black iron gates – how pretty is that!? And I’ll be having vegetables and different fruits and berries in my garden.
This is too cool and great of a dream not to come true. This needs to be realized. Really, it does.
